Job Description

Ever wonder what it was like to run an early stage start up in an emerging market? The OZÉ Venture Fellows internship is designed to give MBAs exposure to the ins-and-outs of leading a tech startup in Ghana. The Venture Fellow will work as a full team member and report directly to the Co-Founders. They will lead a strategic project such as a market-entry strategy development, operationalizing a new product, or preparing for a round of fundraising.

Preferred Experience

  • 2-3 years in Consulting, Finance, Big Tech, or working at a start up

  • Superior communication and analytical skills

  • Advanced Excel Skills including proficiency in VBA is not required, but a plus

  • Experience in business model design, financial modelling, and market analysis

  • Experience starting with an idea and making it real in the world as an entrepreneur, intrapreneur, or member of a startup team

  • 6 months of working or living experience in an emerging market

  • Familiarity with human-centered design processes

Required Attitudes

  • a LOVE of data

  • An eye for design - both left-brained and right-brained

  • A great listener with a sense of curiosity

  • Ability to work in a shifting and ambiguous business environment

  • A self-starter. When you are shown the destination, you draw your own map.

Logistics for Venture Fellows

Venture Fellows will be based in Ghana with potential travel to Nigeria. Due to the early stage of this company, we are not able to provide a salary, but do provide a R/T flight from your home to Ghana, housing, and cover the costs of your visa. We can also assist you to apply for funding from your graduate school.
